I had a rare treat of watching a movie with my husband recently, which he actually sat through from start to finish. He usually leaves around the half way mark, even if he chose the show.
This time, he was really into the movie and didn't get up once! We sat and held hands for some parts, not that it's mushy, but inspiring. He even went on to say the movie is insightful and humorous. That's not something he says for many movies.
The story is about, when self-made sports agency legend Rob Decker goes to sign a promising young pitcher, he finds out there's more to achieving success than money. The town is full of people who walk in love, including to an outsider. He is torn between keeping up his image to sign every athlete he sets his mind on, or to let their future continue on the current path, completely different from what Rob thinks it could be.
My husband said he wanted Rob to fail at getting the contract and to get his priorities in the right order. I just kept watching for the moment when someone would ring the bell ;)
The performance by casting Crowns was also quite touching, they have such a heart for God!
We both enjoyed the movie and think you will, too.

ReplyDeleteAlrighty, at 8:00 I wrote each of the five names on separate pieces of paper and folded them. I then asked our non-family visitor to choose a name from the box. She looked confused as she picked it out because she thought I was asking her to pick out the name of a movie to watch. so, when she chose the title,Sharon W., she said she never heard of that movie before. I explained that she just picked the name of the person who won the movie posted on my blog. Oh, then I guess Sharon W. is the name of the winner!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Sharon! (I'm sorry to the rest)
You are the winner of a copy of Ring The Bell!
please email me your address so it can be sent asap :)
Thanks to all who entered, I will continue to post reviews of family friendly material because I can see you care about it.
