My -sort of- Resolution..

As this New Year rolled around this week, the talk of making resolutions became a hot topic. I listened to others talk about how they want to lose weight, get more active, quit soda for the year, work on projects. I started to consider what I would do if I made a resolution for the year. It would be like Lent, but for a whole year.
(from:drsgallagher.com)
I don't want to lose weight, but shift it. It should be more on my body as muscle rather than -well, whatever it is now, not so muscular. I don't drink stuff that's bad for me, unless you consider 2 cups of coffee bad, which it isn't :)
I don't smoke  and hardly ever drink, so what's left is either get more active or work on projects. As I sit in my comfy lawn chair in front of my laptop, the wood stove less than ten feet from me, I hardly 'feel' like becoming more active, but that is what I am choosing to do. I am going to make it a point to do something active each day, more than getting a snack, putting wood in the stove or playing games on my kindle. I am going to try (gulp) exercising. I'm not terribly out of shape, but not in top shape, either. I know I'll feel better and more alert when I get moving, it's just that darn Newton.
Newton's Laws state very clearly that a body in motion tends to stay in motion, and a body at rest tends to stay sitting in her lawn chair too long and keep blogging til she runs out of things to say.
or..more exactly..
  1. First law: The velocity of a body remains constant unless the body is acted upon by an external force.
  2. Second law: The acceleration a of a body is parallel and directly proportional to the net force F and inversely proportional to the mass m, i.e., F = ma.
  3. Third law: The mutual forces of action and reaction between two bodies are equal, opposite and collinear.
so, in order for me to start this, or continue from my past resolutions, I first have to get up and move. Then, make a good effort to be active each day. I will blog during the week to help me be more likely to follow through. we all know misery loves company, and what better place to share my misery than blogging here ;D
and since you are still reading this blog, I invite you back in a week to see if I'm still moving. If I don't post within a week, don't bother calling 911, it'll be too late.lol.
I'll even post pics to make it more interesting for me, and maybe I'll get creative.
ok, I won't go too crazy. I don't want to end up in traction.
This has been a very long-winded post, but I'm ending on this note:
It is my resolve,(which can mean either to come to a definite or earnest decision about, or   to split (a vector) into its components in specified directions . Either way, this shouild be interesting =)
 Have a great week,
Blessings,
Lori

  2. Cindy,That's why I call it a sort-of resolution. I didn't want to make a resolution, but I need a reason to start moving. This is the best way to pry me off my cushy indented seat and move. More of a good life choice, really. I also want to eat more healthily, but we'll take one thing at a time =)
Thanks for being 'here' for me,
